Creating art that combines elements of Bitcoin with Reefer Madness propaganda is my creative expression that juxtaposes two contrasting concepts from different eras. Reefer Madness is a term used to describe exaggerated and sensationalized anti-marijuana propaganda from the early 20th century, while Bitcoin represents a modern technology and financial movement. The fusion of these two concepts are intended to show the societal perceptions and the power of media in shaping public opinion. This creation serves as a form of social commentary, highlighting how historical propaganda can be misleading and manipulative (FAKE), just as some narratives around new technologies like Bitcoin can be sensationalized or distorted. By using imagery from the past, I am emphasizing the idea that societal attitudes and narratives have a tendency to evolve over time and reflect on how current attitudes towards new technologies might change in the future.
