Nam June Paik was a Korean-American video artist and was known as the “father of video art”. In 1964 he exhibited Robot K-456 in the Second Annual Avant-Garde Festival of New York. This 20-channel remote-controlled robot could walk, play a recording of President John F. Kennedy’s famous speech and its bottom dropped peas as if defecating.
