Trestles is one of Southern California’s premier surf spots. Located in Orange County in the city of San Clemente, Trestles boasts 5 unique breaks (Cottons, Uppers, Lowers, Middles, Church) and spans 3.5 miles of coastline. Lowers is the crown jewel of the 5 breaks. Its a fast, bowling wave going right and serves up steep, hollow waves going left. It is named after Trestles Bridge, a wooden trestle bridge that surfers had to walk under to reach the beach. The bridge has since been replaced by a concrete viaduct but name still stands. Being one of the most popular spots in Orange County, Lowers is usually crowded but, when you catch a wave, its well worth it.
